Super Bowl XLV Thoughts

Super Bowl XLV is only eight days away and I couldn’t be more excited. I really enjoy the Super Bowl because of the four main professional sports in North America (baseball, hockey, football, and basketball) it’s the only final that is set on one exact date. All the other three have their final series that will eventually name one team the winner, but with the Super Bowl, its a day you can mark on your calendar weeks, even months before. Although he is resentful, one friend always volunteers to have all his buddies over and have a few grown up pops and eat some artery clogging food. Its a time to totally let yourself get caught up in all the hype going into it and then eventually just sit down and watch a good game. Even the people who haven’t watched a single game all year become fans when they flick the game on.

But to the actual game. All year I’ve liked watching the Packers. They’re just an easy team to root for. Watching Clay Matthews rip threw O-lines to get to quarterbacks and watching the self nicknamed “The Feezer” dancing in the end zone is just fun. The fan friendly team this year is defiantly the Packers, but if you asked me who I would want as a quarterback on any team in a need to score 2 minute drill, I would have to pick Big Ben. He always finds a way to win, again proving that against the Jets last weekend. That is why, although I’ll be rooting for the Packers come next sunday, I think the Steelers are going to win their third Super Bowl in 6 years. Sure their team is a little banged up, but with Big Ben leading the offense with a solid run game coming from Rashard Mendenhall, and having one of the most explosive active defensive player in Troy Polamalu, the Steelers are the real deal. I believe there will be alot of  scoring, but also a few big take aways from both sides. Final score 24-17 Steelers on top. Love it or hate it, those are my thoughts for next weekends Super Bowl.

You stay classy planet earth

I agree. Big Ben would be the man with ice in his veins. I’ve read a few blogs and other websites and many believe the Packers are the favorites. I personally believe the Steelers are at least a touchdown favorite.
